General Counsel at Thorofare Capital
Robert J. Cooper serves as the General Counsel at Thorofare Capital and has overall responsibility for the company’s legal affairs. In this position, Robert manages the legal execution and oversight of all debt investments made by Thorofare Capital and its affiliates, fund formations and separate account initiatives. Robert has extensive experience in the structuring, negotiation and documentation of commercial real estate debt and equity investments throughout their life cycles. This includes substantial experience in the management, enforcement, restructuring and realization of these investments. Prior to joining the company in 2015, Robert was a Partner in the national real estate law firm of Pircher, Nichols & Meeks (now part of Holland & Knight LLP), where he represented private equity funds, private debt funds (including Thorofare) and other institutional investors in complex commercial real estate debt and equity transactions. Robert received his J.D. and Master of Real Estate Development degrees from the University of Southern California and received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Santa Clara University.
